Dakshinavarti shankh is a very holy and auspicious subject of spirituality. Usually, when one brings Dakshinavarti Shankh to home, one has to do some rituals before placing this shankh then only it can benefit. It is a very minor ritual.
The process is less or more uniform in the various cultic traditions. After setting holy pot, the divine conch shell should be installed for the aim of worship. This procedure is known as ‘Samkha-sthapana.’ This conch-shell should be placed on right side of Kalasa or worshipper’s left side. The ground should be sprinkled by consecrated water, and mandala containing triangular square, and circular shapes have to draw with matsya-mudra. When you are doing this, astraya phat has to be performed.
Sandal paste and flowers should be used to worship the drawn mandala and then the area is secured by the utterance of ‘phat’ after adoring the agneya-corner of mandala and other directions with shadanga-mantra. The conch-shell-seat is then located on mandala.
The conch-shell seat is metal one standing on 3 or 4 legs and square, triangular, or circular in shape. It has despair on top to get the low part of conch-shell. The mantra, which is uttered while the seat is located on the mandala takes this form ‘amuka devata samkhadharam sthapayami namah.’ If this way you will worship Dakshinavarti Shankh, you will surely get benefit out of it.
